NTCA Celebrates 30 years

11:24 AM - Aux Venture attends the 30th Annual Conference of the Northern Territory Cattleman's Association
The annual conference for the Northern Territory Cattleman's Association was held in Darwin with a large contingent of members, service providers and industry stakeholders, all keen to look to the cattle industry's bright future. As always, the NTCA introduced an enlightening line up of speakers who gave new insights into the ever growing global demand for meat protein and spoke of the envious position that northern Australia will hold in this growing market over the next 30 years.
Northern Australia's vast opportunity to develop agricultural production on the doorstep of the largest markets of the future was further demonstrated in the presentations by Thos Gieskes of Rabobank (CEO Australia and New Zealand) and economist Dr Andrew Stoeckel. It was pleasing to see that the industry had rallied from some of it's most challenging times to look to where they could now direct their efforts for future prosperity.
While in the NT for the conference, Aux Venture was also invited to attend a brief tour of Australian Agricultural Company's northern beef processing facility, currently under construction on the outskirts of Darwin. This facility represents an exciting development for the northern cattle industry, as well as an integrated alignment of the AACo business. This additional opportunity to market cull cattle to a welfare-driven, economic end market is of broad benefit to the northern industry. The initiative is a credit to those who have undertaken it and I look forward to touring the completed site to watch progress in action.
